Go For Your Moments

And when she finds it you can be sure she’ll call her friends and neighbors: ‘Celebrate with me! I found my lost coin!’ Count on it—that’s the kind of party God’s angels throw every time one lost soul turns to God.” Luke 15:10

One Saturday morning while working in our family owned coffee shop, I asked my husband to come in and take load to the dump. He filled up the truck and off he went. Shortly after he left, I went to get the bank deposit ready to take to the bank. I went to our secure safe (which was an old broken microwave in the back room) to get what was about $2000 only to find that it was gone! I frantically searched everywhere and then realized, it was headed to the dump, hidden in the microwave! Panic set in and with tears running down my face, I desperately cried to my husband, “You have to go back and get our money!” And, with the help of some very kind city employees, our microwave and our money were found. I can’t even begin to tell you how elated I was when he returned with the money from that old microwave!

The moment I realized that our money was lost, nothing else mattered and my focus was solely on getting it back, no matter what! We were willing to go to any length to get the money in the microwave back! I can’t even begin to describe the joy we experienced when it was found!

If you’ve lost anything of great value, you’ve felt the same sense of desperation that we did. I wonder if we are as desperate, panic stricken, and fully focused to find lost people? Do we have that same sense of urgency to go after them and bring them to Jesus?

If our coffee shop staff and customers all rejoiced when we found the money in the microwave, I can only imagine what God and all of heaven is like when one lost person is found. I think Jesus is desperate for and solely focused on each lost life and He will go to great lengths to rescue and bring them home.

This Easter, like never before, may we feel a new sense of urgency and a desperation for lives to be found. If Jesus isn’t willing to let one lost sheep slip past his notice, then neither should we. I pray for you, your lost loved ones, and people we come in contact with, to experience the relief of being found and the joy of salvation and eternal life. I know that all of heaven is moving on their behalf. I believe that in this season, we will experience an unprecedented number of lost people making their way home. It’s time to start planning the party because the day is coming when that which was lost, is found and that day is here! Just remember the money in the microwave and have faith. God is a good God and He’s right now orchestrating a chain of events that will bring those who are lost, home.
