The Prayer of Jesus

Go For Your Moments

The last thing that Jesus did on this earth before going to the cross was to pray for us. Why? He could have prayed to God for anything. Notice that He says that His life is on display in us. And His prayer? That we be united as one church, one body, one people. You are a walking, living, breathing reflection of God to this lost and dying world. What you say, what you do, how you live speaks to the world of who God is. Step into your day ever aware of who you are. You are set apart, you are amazing, you have an excellent spirit in you, you can do anything, you are powerful, courageous, strong and you have God on your side. You are a child of the living God. Remember – Jesus prayed for you – He loves you that much!

I spelled out your character in detail To the men and women you gave me. They were yours in the first place; Then you gave them to me, And they have now done what you said. They know now, beyond the shadow of a doubt, That everything you gave me is firsthand from you, For the message you gave me, I gave them; And they took it, and were convinced That I came from you. They believed that you sent me. I pray for them. I’m not praying for the God-rejecting world But for those you gave me, For they are yours by right. Everything mine is yours, and yours mine, And my life is on display in them. For I’m no longer going to be visible in the world; They’ll continue in the world While I return to you. Holy Father, guard them as they pursue this life That you conferred as a gift through me, So they can be one heart and mind As we are one heart and mind. As long as I was with them, I guarded them In the pursuit of the life you gave through me; John 17:6-12

I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.

“I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one.I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am. Then they can see all the glory you gave me because you loved me even before the world began! John 17:21-24
